About Greens & Gummies
I am Ellie Barnes. I write about greens supplements in gummy form, I test everything myself for at least 30 days, and I tell you when the thing I earn a commission on loses.
Why this site exists
I kept starting supplements and kept stopping them.
It always played out the same way. I would order something with real enthusiasm, take it for a handful of days, and then the routine would get complicated. Travel was usually the thing that broke it. A tub does not fit neatly into a bag, and once you skip three days you have quietly quit.
I also carried a straightforward prejudice about greens powders. You open the tub, stir it into water, and you already know finishing the glass will take a small act of will. That is a bad foundation for a daily habit.
So when I tried a greens gummy and got through an entire month without missing a day, including two trips, I got interested in the question underneath it. Not "which formula is best" but which format do people actually finish. That question is what this site is about.
Who I am, honestly
Ellie Barnes is a pen name. I write under one because I would rather the work be judged than my name be searchable next to supplement reviews for the rest of my life. That is the only thing about me that is not literal.
I am not a doctor, a dietitian or a nutritionist, and you will never see a credential after my name on this site, because I do not have one. What I have is a month of daily use per product, a habit of reading supplement labels closely, and a policy of linking to the primary source whenever I quote a number.
I have a mild yeast sensitivity, I eat out more than I should, and my diet is less organized than I would like. That is the actual person writing these reviews. If you are looking for clinical authority, read Innerbody or talk to your doctor. If you want to know whether you will still be taking something in week four, that is what I can tell you.
How I test
30 days minimum
Every product gets a full month of daily use before I write about it. Anything shorter is a first impression, not a review.
I buy it myself
No free samples in exchange for coverage. What I paid is what I would have paid as a normal customer.
Labels over marketing
Ingredient counts are marketing. Doses are the truth. I read the supplement facts panel and report what it actually commits to.
Primary sources only
If I cite a statistic, I link to the body that produced it, not to a brand repeating it. If I cannot find the original, the number does not go in.
The rules I hold myself to
I say what did not happen. Every review here includes the things I did not notice, and the outcomes other people report that contradict mine. A review with no downside is an advertisement wearing a costume.
I separate what I felt from what I can prove. When I noticed steadier energy over a month, I said I could not pin it on any single ingredient, because I cannot. My experience is evidence about me, not about you.
I let the competitor win when it wins. In Grüns vs AG1, AG1 takes three of the five rounds, and I have no affiliate relationship with AG1 at all. That comparison cost me money to write honestly and I would write it the same way again.
No health claims, ever. These are wellness supplements. They do not cure, treat or prevent anything, and I will not imply otherwise to sell one.
How this site makes money
Greens & Gummies is reader-supported. Some links on this site go to the official store of the product being reviewed, and if you buy through one I earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
That arrangement creates an obvious incentive, so here is how I handle it. The commission does not change a score, a pro, a con, or a recommendation. Products I do not think are worth buying do not get a positive review to protect a revenue stream. And every page carries the disclosure before the recommendation, not buried at the bottom after you have already decided.
If you ever read something here that sounds like it was written for the commission rather than for you, that is a failure on my part and I would rather know.
Health disclaimer. Nothing on this site is medical advice, and nothing here is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Supplements affect people differently. Talk to a qualified professional before starting one, particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication or managing a health condition.
